Unsent Letters Series
(2015 - ongoing)

Love Letter No.5
(2021)

I have been collecting letters from strangers that they have not sent for various reasons. I use the content of the letters as raw materials and turn each letter into an individual piece of work, in different forms including artist's books, installations, or something in-between. Playing with language and text, I transform the content of the letters into seemingly incomprehensible “codes”, intentionally requesting extra time and patience from the audience. Every audience, which is the recipient of the letter by default, has to perform the action of reading in a specific way to decipher the letter. Their participation then finally completes the attempt of lost communication.
