Keep the Useful
(2019)
I invited local residents in Changsha, China to donate one object of their choice to me. In return, I promised to gift back a piece of artwork using their given object as raw material, along with a signed collection certificate. Participated residents, therefore, became my collectors after the exchange. In the end, I made a total of 23 sculptural pieces and a video. Twenty out of twenty-three participants accepted my work. This project was made in collaboration with artist Kang Gao.
Installation consists of a group of 23 sculptural objects, using wood, silicone, cod live oil, paint, plastic, glass, ceramic, nails, readymades, exhibited along with a video [8:37’] in loop.
